Kraft's $25 million Garland expansion will create 250 new jobs - The Dallas Morning News

A planned $25 million expansion of Kraft Heinz’s Garland plant will create 250 new jobs.

The international food products firm now has 843 workers at the operation on Forest Lane.

Kraft plans to renovate and update the facility with the help of the Texas Enterprise Zone Program.

Kraft now operates a 266,000 square foot facility on 50 acres, according to the City of Garland.

“For decades, Kraft Heinz Food Co. has been an important and highly valued corporate stakeholder in Garland and we are extremely excited to assist them with this latest expansion of operations in our community,” David Gwin, Garland’s Director of Economic Development, said in a statement. “We look forward to many more years of successful partnership between Kraft Heinz and the community.”

The company could get a maximum of $625,000 from the State of Texas if it meets the employment increase goal.

Kraft’s Garland facility manufactures products including Lunchables, Oscar Meyer Naturals, Kraft barbecue sauce and Velveeta Skillets, with plant distribution reaching across the country.

It’s one of three food industry firms – along with U.S. Food Service and Daisy Brand – with Garland operations.
