ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KTIV) – Senator Bernie Sanders hosted a town hall meeting in Orange City on Sunday.
The Sanders campaign called it the “Green Jobs Town Hall”.
Senator Sanders had three Siouxlanders from different backgrounds up on stage during the meeting with him.
Senator Sanders offered questions to the audience about their experience with job security and paying for education.
He then opened the floor for questions for him.
Some of the comments and concerns people had, dealt with climate change and healthcare.
“Is health care free under MediCare for all? Of course not nothing is free. But we’re going to pay for it in a progressive-tax way which exempts the first 29 thousand dollars of income from taxation. The result of that will be that the overwhelming majority of people in this country will pay significantly less for health care than they are paying right now,” said Sen. Sanders.
Monday, Senator Sanders will be in Des Moines.
