$1.8 million Water Main Project in Westfield to Last 3 Months, Company Says - TAPinto.net

WESTFIELD, NJ — New Jersey American Water is preparing to replace 4,110 feet of aging 6-inch water main with 16-inch ductile iron main along West Broad Street from Lamberts Mill Road to South Avenue, the company announced.

Work on the $1.8 million project starts Monday and is anticipated to last through the end of April, the news release distributed by the town Friday stated. The project is anticipated to include replacing nine fire hydrants and 109-utility owned service lines along the route, according to New Jersey American Water.

Weather permitting, CRJ Contracting will be working 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, New Jersey American Water said. The water company said it will complete restoration of the streets this summer.
